Easter Blessings
Easter is a perfect time for new beginnings. Here I am, writing my first blog. Something I always wanted to do. It’s makes me a little bit nervous, make that a lot nervous. Putting myself out there for the whole world to see. I do believe this is what God had planned for my next. I gave myself until the end of March to either get started or to forget the whole idea. Naming the blog was the hardest part. Every name seemed to be taken. I looked through books, magazine articles, even the bible in search of something different.
I sat down in my favorite quiet spot and prayed. In that still small voice of God, my head kept saying call mom. Of course I wasn’t really listening. (About a year ago my mother had a stroke. To make a long story short we opted to put her in a wonderful assisted living community. She has dementia. Her short term memory is quickly fading.) The “call mom” thought would not leave my head. I was in the midst of prayer and thought calling mom could wait until I was done. The “call mom” persisted.. I finally called my mother and told her about starting my blog and not having a title for it. It took some time explaining to her what a blog was and why I needed a title before I actually started writing. Without hesitation she said “MeSewLaneoUs. She went on to tell me exactly how to spell it. My mother has always been a very sharp women, especially with words. I wasn’t sure about MeSewLaneoUs at first and asked if she had anything else. “Nope, that’s it”. Who am I to question. So thus my blog was born.
Wishing you many new beginnings and Easter blessings
